Budapest: Day One

So if you follow me on Instagram you'll know that I've had the pleasure of going to Budapest for few days last week! It was an absolutely amazing place. It's really rare for me to go to a place and immediately want to return at some point, but I came away from Budapest with a list of things to do on my next visit! Here's what I got upto on the first day...

So when we arrived there it was absolutely ridiculously hot, temperatures reached 36 degrees, so it was a huge shock coming from cold, rainy England. So we spent most of the first day relaxing and trying to adjust to the change in weather.

We stayed in the Gellért hotel - not my usual style as I usually like modern hotels - but its Victorian-esque interior was a refreshing break from the usual. It also had the most beautiful set of baths - thermal water is one of the key highlights of visiting Budapest - which is where we spent half of the first day.

Top:  Zara

Skirt: Urban Outfitters

Shoes: Lefties (similar)

Scarf: Zara

Sunglasses: Pull & Bear

This was the perfect outfit to wear around to adjust to the first day. And the shoes were surprisingly comfy!

After the baths, we took a boat along the Danube river because it was too hot to do pretty much anything else, and this was a pretty easy way to see the main sights on the first day.

The boat trip ended on Margaret Island, which contains the largest park in Budapest. It was pretty big and we didn't have much time to explore, but we discovered a beautiful Japanese garden.
