Leopard and ruffles provide for the ultimate maximalist combination. Maximalism was a massive trend on the A/W’16 catwalks, for all brands from Prada to D&G. And, judging from the September fashion shows, it doesn’t look like the trend is about to disappear for the coming season of Spring/Summer ’17.
I have shied away from leopard print all my life, never feeling confident enough to pull it off. But something about this Topshop coat made me fall in love with leopard. It’s so soft and warm, perfect for winter, and the ultimate statement piece. It brightens up literally any outfit, as well as the dull, cold autumn days.
To contrast with the sexiness of the leopard print, I’ve added these gorgeous ruffles from Zara. On this top, the ruffles are beautiful and girly, without looking matronly. To stop myself from looking too girly when the leopard coat was off, I combined the blouse with my favourite (faux) leather trousers, and heeled boots, to add a bit of sex appeal.
I’ve also added a new addition to my bag collection. I’m waiting til Christmas to get the Saint Lauren tote bag, but I needed something for uni to tide me by until then, so I bought this gorgeous shopper from Mango. The plain, black design goes with every single outfit, ever!
