I’ve decided that the key to Parisian style is basically anything striped, so that’s why I picked out this gorgeous top to wear on one of my days in Paris. Guess where it’s from?! Topshop? No. Miss Selfridge? No. It’s from Primark – can you believe?!
Normally I never venture into that oasis of busy-ness, destruction, and cheap, poor quality clothing that is Primark. But, recently, I had some time to kill before meeting a friend, it was a quiet Tuesday afternoon, and primark was right opposite the coffee shop I was sat in. So I thought what the heck.
To be honest, it is a bit of a mission to find something decent in there; which is why I was even more satisfied with this rare, striped, chiffon blouse.
I thought keeping this look monochrome would make for a pretty stunning outfit, so I decided to keep the colour scheme black and white. I’d been looking all over for some black lace shorts recently. Having seen a pair I fell in love with in H&M, but which rapidly sold out, I scoured the high street for a similar pair but couldn’t find one anywhere! I eventually settled for this crochet pair from New Look. Close enough?
I accessorised with my favourite white lace-up pumps from New Look as this made my outfit feel lovely and summery whilst whilst still sticking to the monochrome colour pallette. I added a recent investment – a classic YSL black shoulder bag – my black leather jacket, and a black tie choker, to add a bit of a gothic edge to an otherwise girly outfit.
Parisian style is one of my favourites, as it just looks so classy and chic, while at the same time being effortless.
