I don’t often dig out pinafore dresses, but sometimes I do like the 60s, classic smart look. The check print goes perfectly with the slightly a-line skirt and pinafore detaling, making for a really cute, preppy outfit.
To downplay the cuteness, I’ve added these knee-high boots to amp up the sexiness of the look. I was looking for the perfect knee-high boots for ages and eventually came across these beauties from Ego, which were only £30! They’re so versatile and I love the fact that they’re grey, rather than a black, which provides a bit of a contrast from the monochrome tones of the pinafore dress. Plus, the smartness of the boots perfectly matches the smart look of the pinafore dress.
I’ve chosen to layer up the pinafore dress with a white poloneck underneath for extra warmth. The high neck matched the 60s pinafore perfectly; and the white colour matched the largely monochromatic theme of the look.
I’ve accessoried, of course, with my favourite Zara mini bag. Circular bag handles were massive on the runways last year, with major designers incorporating them into their collections, like Stella McCartney and J.W.Anderson.
